He was born in 1962 in Konyaaltı, Antalya. He completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Antalya. He completed his higher education in Public Relations and Economics departments. He crowned his 25 years of political experience with a master's degree in Public Administration and Political Science.
Muhittin Böcek, who did his military service at Samsun Military Hospital, has been active in sectors such as agricultural production, transportation, and tourism throughout his life. He has been involved in active politics since his youth and served as the Head of the Central District of the Motherland Party between 1994 and 1999.
In the elections held on April 18, 1999, he became the candidate of the Motherland Party for Konyaaltı Municipality and was elected with 27% of the votes. After 5 years of successful work that brought a contemporary and modern vision to Konyaaltı, which has taken urbanization steps, he became a candidate from the Republican People's Party in the 28 March 2004 Local Elections and was re-elected in his second term with more than 50% of the votes.
After the successful work in Konyaaltı Municipality, on March 29, 2009, it was once again the people's choice with 60% of the votes. Breaking new ground in the March 30, 2014 election, he succeeded in becoming the first mayor in Antalya Center to win four consecutive terms of office.
Muhittin Böcek, who served as the president of the Union of Mediterranean municipalities for 4 terms during his political life, also continues to serve as the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Western Antalya Tourism Protection and Development Zone Infrastructure Service Association (BATAB), the Konyaaltı Tourism Education and Culture Foundation (KONTEV) and the Konyaaltı City Council.
Muhittin Böcek, who was a candidate from the Republican People's Party in the 2019 Local Elections for Antalya, after 20 years of successful political life he called Antalya his greatest love and wrote his book "I am in love with this city", he was elected as the Mayor of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality by receiving 50.62% of the votes with the approval of the people.
Muhittin Böcek, known for his innovative management approach and his love for people and nature, won the public's appreciation with his services and projects for all segments of the society.
